AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf has urged the players to perform exceptionally well and get a win against Chievo during the weekend. The future of Seedorf has already been thrown into doubt just a few months after he took over at the club.
He has been unable to get results and the team have been slipping to the second half of the table under his management. After failing to win for several matches in a row, Milan only recently managed a victory against Fiorentina. This morale boosting win has helped Seedorf get some time.
The match against Chievo represents a great opportunity to build on this victory since the opposition are struggling down near the bottom of the table. They come into the match on the back of a win over Bologna, but still, their form over the last few weeks has not been good enough to threaten a Milan team at their best. AC Milan are expecting some big performances from the likes of Kaka and Mario Balotelli over the next few weeks. Even a finish in the top eight of the table will be respectable for the team, which has been undergoing a massive transitional phase in the last few years.
Milan have shown a good improvement in form with draws against Lazio as well.
"The last two matches have been very important for us and we should remember that we haven't always got what we deserved in some games. We've shown courage and we have improved as we saw against Lazio and Fiorentina. We'll be looking for three points on Saturday. The club have given me one goal and that's to get into Europe. There are a lot of teams in front of us going for the same thing,” said the former midfielder ahead of the encounter with Chievo.
