GOMEZ HEADS TO TURKEY
German international Mario Gomez has ended his adventure in Italy football after securing a move to Turkish club Besiktas on a season-long loan deal.
Gomez has been at Fiorentina since 2013, but he has been plagued by injury problems of late. This led to his absence at the World Cup 2014, which was eventually won by the German national team. Germany were able to lift the World Cup title even without a star striker like Gomez and this is likely to sound the end of his international career. His move to Besiktas reflects the same, even though the latest StanJames odds suggest he is in with a chance of a return.
