MAROTTA BACKS CONTE

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has come out in praise of coach Antonio Conte after the latter led the club to a third successive league title without even kicking a ball this weekend. Conte was given the job of taking Juventus back to the Italian Serie A when he was appointed as the coach of the team in 2011.

However, none would have imagined that he would have led the club to 3 successive titles apart from getting promoted back into the Italian top division. Juventus are one of the most successful clubs in Europe, but they are relegated after the match fixing scandal a few years ago.

Conte has managed to raise his position as one of the top managers in European football right now. Despite being only 44 years of age, he is now considered as a contender for a top managerial job.

After the club achieved its third successive league title this weekend, Marotta praised the manager. Juventus were able to win the title after Roma were defeated 4-1 against relegation threatened Catania during the weekend. Only a win would have kept the title race going until the next week. As it is, Juventus will be looking to build on the success.

The club were eliminated in the Europa league semifinals by Benfica a few days ago, as hotly tipped by the germania portogallo probabilitá website.

"Conte drilled this mentality into the squad from the first day he arrived, so much of the credit for this Scudetto goes to him, as it's an historic occasion. It is a victory for everyone, even the invisible team that works in the background. It is a hugely important achievement. We knew from the start it would be tough between European competition and Serie A. We were really hungry and motivated to secure this title. We'll have an opportunity to see each other calmly next week,” said the Juventus general manager.
